WWE Wrestlemania 29: Jim Ross; A Must Add for the Show

Everybody loves Jim Ross. Nobody can touch his commentary, no matter what. No commentators have ever come close to being as great as Good Ole’ JR.

However, as of now, Ross is off full-time commentating duties. Currently, Michael Cole, JBL, Jerry Lawler and Josh Mathews cover commentary, and I have no problem with that, but I am still holding out hope that one day Ross will return to the booth full time.

For now though, I’d be happy with a few appearances per year, especially if he commentated ‘Mania every year. And for Wrestlemania 29, a commentary booth consisting of Michael Cole, JBL and the legend Jim Ross would make me happy.

Even if Ross commentated just one or two matches, specifically the Triple H vs Brock Lesnar match and/or the Punk vs Undertaker match I’d be beyond excited. Just hearing the famous voice of JR commentating on the “Grandest Stage of them All” is enough after years of withdrawal of JR’s amazing commentary.

Remember Raw 1000? He commentated for one match; Sheamus, Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara vs Chris Jericho, Dolph Ziggler and Alberto Del Rio. And in that one match, he put Sheamus over more than Cole or Mathews could’ve done in a lifetime. It just go’s to show you that Ross hasn’t lost a step and still has it.

That means that he deserves a spot. He’d just add that much more to the already historic show.

Don’t get me wrong, the show will be great regardless of the commentators, but an amazing booth of guys adds another dimension to the show.

Think back to WM 28 last year. Think about Undertaker vs Triple H, arguably Match of the Year. That would have been a Match of the Year candidate anyway, but didn’t the commentary of Jim Ross make the match that much better?

Yes, yes it did.

And he’d most definitely put another match over this year.

I’d take him commentating any match, as long he does something rather than sit on his couch. Commentating the whole show, however, would be the best.

The way he’d put over the matches, especially Taker vs Punk, Triple H vs Brock Lesnar, Alberto vs Swagger and Rock vs Cena would be spectacular.

I can’t say much else, just that without JR, it wouldn’t be the same. I hope WWE decides to have JR appear and commentate.

About Austin Robinson

DTA. Don't Trust Austin. Okay, you can actually trust him at least to be a solid, constantly improving WWE writer.
