Voting is Now Closed: Joe Burgett vs. Jacob Waring (EvE)

By a vote of 6 to 5, Joe Burgett barely eked out a win over a worthy opponent in Jacob Waring. It is hard to say that this proved who was the better writer, but it proved in the end that Joe was the better man on this week with a slightly better argument.

Congratulations to both writers, and good luck in future contests.

As is customary, the winner will have his theme song played to celebrate the victory.

Next week: Sean Linhares vs. Logan Randall to Determine the Number One Contender to the WE Attitude Title Debate Who the Breakout Star of 2012 Has Been.

I want to leave my thoughts on both articles here.

Waring – I love the Moliere quote as a sort of framework for the piece. How do the fans truly view Survivor Series now? In the end, you also defended history though gave a bit of the opposite argument as well. In fact, it almost felt like the article could been a stronger against piece rather than for.

Burgett – You played the role of defender here. You listed all of SS’s historical significance and managed to tie in how it can continue to be a major contributor for the future. It was well laid out as putting over history.

Conclusion – Both were solid articles with great structure. While I was a sucker for the Moliere use as a sort of framework, I feel like Joe was stronger in arguing his one side. While it felt too one sided at times, the driving emotion and conviction behind his message shined through at a slightly higher level.
