WWE: A Translation Of Antonio Cesaro’s French Theme Song

As Wrestle Enigma’s resident French, I thought you, English-speaking people, might be interested in the meaning of Antonio Cesaro’s theme song “C’est un miracle !”, as the lyrics are both in Swiss-German and French.

The lyrics in French are already weird and enigmatic, but when I read it carefully, I saw that they fit Cesaro’s character pretty well. See for yourself:

It’s a miracle, it’s true!

It’s a miracle, it’s true!

It’s a miracle, it’s true, it’s a miracle!

Time is passing by, he gets older, he is wiser in his speech

Back to the future, he believes in life and love again,

He sees death in another way, he goes his way when one tries to pull him outside overnight

It’s the result of a prayer, he takes care of things again, sees the horizon until the sea overnight

But it is only the result of a prayer, it was now or never, yesterday doesn’t matter

It’s a miracle, it’s true!

It’s a miracle, it’s true!

It’s a miracle, it’s true, it’s a miracle!

He saw black from the bottom of his red eyes, he wanted gold

and not only things to move, that man would have killed a friend just to not be sidelined

if you believe the words he says, a wacky marginal mind but so close to everything, to everyone

he coughed already despite his infinite ideas, he sought the elevator of the first floor at the last,

no doubt he would end up in the cage, underground or in the wall without turning the page

It’s a miracle, it’s true!

It’s a miracle, it’s true!

It’s a miracle, it’s true, it’s a miracle!

It’s a miracle, it’s true!

It’s a miracle, it’s true!

It’s a miracle, it’s true, it’s a miracle!

As you can see, the first paragraph refers to his past as a rugby player, when he was kicked out of the French Top 14 due to his excessive violence (Thanks JBL). It was a difficult time for him, all of his life collapsed, no more future, no more horizon. But then, he crossed the sea (well, the ocean actually) to find a new hope and start all over again.

The second paragraph shows his ambition, his lust for glory. He wants everything now, he doesn’t want to wait until someone gives him his chance, and he wants to take it by himself.

The entire song reflects perfectly his natural violence and that he is not afraid to dirty his hands. When you think of Antonio Cesaro and read these lyrics, you have the image of him being ruthless and brawling in the ring. You see him doing his uppercut or the Neutralizer.

“C’est un miracle” is the perfect song for Antonio Cesaro, and it has a unique identity that makes it recognizable and easy to memorize, the perfect example of a theme song suiting its wrestler.

Tell us in the comments what you think of the song!

P.S.: keep in mind that translating a song is like translating a poem, it is not possible to give back all the rhymes and the atmosphere emerging from the song. The French version sounds much better than my modest translation.
